Consultronics is a privately held corporation which specializes in the design and manufacture of sophisticated telecommunications test equipment.
The Canadian owned company was founded in 1973. Since this time, the company has grown to 170 employees in two manufacturing plants. One of these plants resides in Toronto, Canada and the other is located in Southhampton, U.K. In addition, Consultronics has a Sales division located in Atlanta, USA and is a joint venture partner in Consultronics Development kft, a Hungarian software developer.
The company also boasts sales offices and representatives in over 80 countries worldwide, including Europe, The Middle East, Africa, Pacific Rim, Asia, and North and South America.
The company spends between 15 and 20% of its annual revenue on research and development which occurs at both manufacturing centers. This commitment to R&D has allowed the company to build up a broad range of test products.
Early in the company's history, Consultronics started on a solid quest for quality. The company was one of the first in the world to receive the internationally recognized registration to ISO-9001, having even before that gained the registration to BS5750 Part A in the U.K.
Customers of Consultronics include large and small telephone companies, telecom manufacturers, public utilities, aerospace companies, oil and gas companies and other large data network users.
Consultronics manufactures products in North America for NAFTA and in Europe as a participant in the European Community. Consultronics is a full voting member of the Electrical Industries of America (EIA), the Telephone Industries of America (TIA), The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), The Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Telecommunications Consortia of Canada and the Canadian Manufacturers Association.
